Item description for Visions Beyond the Veil: Visions of Heaven, Angels, Satan, Hell, and the End of the Age by H. A. Baker...

Overview
"Chronicles the supernatural visions of the Chinese orphans at the Adullam Rescue Mission that was founded by H. A. Baker and his wife"--Provided by publisher.

Publishers Description
Originally published many years ago, this outstanding book, now revised, is still fresh and challenging us today. It tells the story of a group of children - mostly street beggars and orphans - living in Adullam Rescue Mission in Yunan Province, China, under the care of missionaries H.A. Baker and his wife. These children experienced an immense and incredible outpouring of the Holy Spirit - so great that they literally 'experienced heaven' through visions, were aware of the prescence of angels, and were able to describe in great detail what they saw. The result of these intense experiences of God was a fervent passion for worship, the Word of God, and prayer.

More About H. A. Baker

Register your artisan biography and upload your photo! H. A. Baker (1881-1971) and his wife were missionaries to Tibet from 1911 to 1919 before returning to their home in America for several years, believing their missionary days were over due to sickness. But God soon called them to China, to the southwest corner of the Yunnan province. There they settled in a little town called Kotchiu that was home to brigand robbers and said to be the worst town in all of China. In the midst of sinful surroundings, the Bakers let God's light shine. The Bakers soon became conscious of the many beggar boys who were starving and dying in the streets. They decided to open the Adullam Home, providing a shelter for these poor homeless children. There were forty boys in the home when a great miracle took place and God poured out His Spirit, revealing the secrets of heaven, hell, and spiritual beings to the orphans. H. A. Baker wrote of these events in his classic book Visions Beyond the Veil.

H. A. Baker was born in 1881 and died in 1971.

Reviews - What do customers think about Visions Beyond The Veil?

Visions Beyong the Veil  Mar 8, 2007
Awesome eye opener. If you're hungry to know more of the ways God deals with us here on earth, don't miss this one. I've met the Bakers on a mission trip to Mozambique & know them to to be very strong, hard working missionaries that you can trust. They love Jesus and the kids and it comes through when reading this book, how true they are to the calling God has given them.

I feel even more in love with God!   Jan 15, 2007
This book reminded me about how God wants us to participate with Him daily in so many more unique ways then we can imagine. It's a wonderful book!

Excellent Read  May 13, 2006
H.A. Baker does a great job describing the events that occurred in the lives of these Chinese orphans. Their experiences agree with the Holy Bible and are genuine. Definitely worth the buy!

Good to read first  Aug 2, 2005
This book was a good introduction to "Always Enough". I'm glad I read this first. It was exciting to learn of the Holy Spirit anointed work among the Chinese orphans before the door closed to missionary efforts. People {children} matter to God!

Encouraging and Inspiring  Jul 14, 2005
This book is taken from the writings of H. A. Baker, an American missionary to China. Prior to being in China, he served in Tibet from 1911 to 1919. Here he records the experiences of young children who were residents of the Adullam Rescue Mission in Yunnanfu, Yunnan Province, China.

Before describing what the children saw while under the influence of the Holy Spirit, the author establishes the Scriptural basis for such visions. He cites numerous incidents from the Bible that the sort of things the children saw "in the Spirit" were experienced by people in the Bible and that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

This book, as edited by Baker's associate, T. A. Lanes, is encouraging in pointing to the reality of what Christians can expect when God calls them home. The concluding chapter is solid in explaining that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and He is the ONLY WAY to heaven.
