Item description for All I Need Is Jesus & a Good Pair of Jeans: The Tired Supergirl's Search for Grace by Susanna Foth Aughtmon & Mark Batterson...
Overview This honest and fun book shows women how to win their battles with pride, worry, fatigue, beauty, jealousy, and chocolate--and lighten up in the process.
Publishers Description Women everywhere feel pressured to have perfect Christian lives, perfect family lives, and to look perfect in their jeans. Instead of feeling good about themselves, most of them just feel like tired supergirls, living in the gap between who they are and who they long to be. Susanna Foth Aughtmon honestly confesses her battles with pride, worry, fatigue, beauty, jealousy, and chocolate. In every chapter she faces a nemesis--like Worry Man or Mrs. Prideful--who implies that she is not living up to her potential. She meets each enemy with the secret weapon of God's Truth. Readers will identify with her humorous examples from daily life and will gain insight from this tired supergirl on her journey of grace.

Great Book! Looking forward to her next Nov 18, 2009
This book is an amazing affirmation of what real women think and feel. Thank you Sue for having the courage not just to say it out loud but to pen it for us. Sue brings humor to the realities of life that are not nearly so humorous when we are going thru them. Read this book and let it resonate with you! Can't wait to see what Sue has to share in her new book "My bangs look good and other lies I tell myself."
REAL Women love this book! Nov 11, 2009
We are a group of ladies who were hungrily searching for a devotional that would take off the pretty frosting on the birthday cake and reveal the mishapen loaf beneath! We were tired of getting beat down by the well meaning superficial Christian women out there. We were being driven away by condemnation and lack of grace at some of our churches. The sad truth is - we were LETTING that dis-connect keep us from the Love of our Lord. We were hiding behind the figleaf of shame. This book has been so HEALING! The women in the group LOVE that Susanna seems to GET US! Heck ...she IS ONE OF US! Talk about now being able to build a REAL and HONEST relationship with Jesus! No more condemnation! More Grace! She backs up her thoughts with scripture. She takes what GOD wants of us - directly from His word - and puts it into "Tired Supergirl" speak. Thank you! We are looking forward to your next book! Love....F.L.A.B. (Fabulous Ladies and Biblestudy).
Laugh and Cry at Truth! Nov 11, 2009
I just loved this book. I don't even have children and could relate! Susanne tells it like it is, and of course it is funnier when it happens to someone else! Yet you can relate to every word. Can't say only women will get something from this book. Loved it and can't wait for "My Bangs Look Good...". Feel this book would make a great ladies' study too.
Laugh and grow Nov 7, 2009
This book has moved me to laugh and grow. Sue has a compelling way of living out the scripture "In our weakness, His strength is made perfect." Her writing is to the point, hilariously witty, and conversational. I have used this book for an online mom's group and it has been the best resource to help young mom's be honest, vulnerable, and feel free to admit their weaknesses! Sue has done this, and her strength is evident. I have a stack of these books on-hand in case I meet a new neighbor. It is worth worth worth the time to read! I am looking forward to her next book! Keep 'em coming!
Read It Slowly, So You Can Take It All In Nov 6, 2009
After reading the introduction to this book, I had to just stop reading it for a few days so that I could get my mind around the premise. Loved this book and believe it would be a great book for a woman of any age, but especially young women who are struggly to balance so much. Can't wait for the next book from Susanna...in the meantime, I'm enjoying her blog and I think others will, too. [...]
