Creatively Inspiring! Aug 20, 2007
Arleen Jennings has the ability to speak deeply into the heart, grabbing a person's creative spirit, pulling it gently to the surface where it can catch it's breath and be revived!
This book will encourage the reader to actively participate in the arts as the author explains the necessity of being who we were created to be. Full of colorful, persuasive examples of how to satisfy artistic passions, Arleen has included many ideas for incorporating the arts into our everyday lives, as well as those intimate times of worship.
From time to time, we all feel the need to express ourselves. But expressing love for God and others is the real reason art exists, and why we are always seeking new, creative ways to convey those feelings.
Created to Be Creative reminds us all that we are created by The Creator, in the image of The Creator, making us creative beings who are generally more happy whenever we are busy creating. That is inspiring!
Picking up the pieces Jul 17, 2007
Unlike most self help books, this one causes you to look inward to your God given talent and be inspired to use it. Not just for yourself though! Most self help, motivational books are about what YOU can get out of it. How YOU can get ahead to prosper or advance. This book uses no formula or magic phrases, except to know that YOU have been created to be creative. We are born with a purpose and born with imagination not just to benefit ourselves, but to bless and encourage others. Sometimes we put down our creative abilities and ultimately our purpose in life, out of fear of rejection or life just gets in the way. This book challenges us to pick up those creative abilities that we set aside and use them again. Arleen wrote on page 117 that "We can train our minds to think and act with purpose, or we can merely react to our senses." We need to retrain our minds to pick up those lost pieces of our creative nature and use them. It's never easy! However in making the decision to create again requires us to overcome our fears. Overcome the obstacles that have hindered our creative nature and begin to create again. Giving purpose and fulfillment to our own lives and even inspiring others.
