More About Anonymous
Throughout the history of literature, since the creation of bound texts in the forms of books and codices, various works have been published and written anonymously, often due to their political or controversial nature, or merely for the purposes of the privacy of their authors, among other reasons.
Historically, when a book was published and the author information was not known, then that book would be said to be written by Anonymous. In its most literal translation, anonymous simply means that no one knows who was responsible for the literary work.
Anonymous has published or released items in the following series...
Reviews - What do customers think about A Notable Biblical Reference Manual?
Listing the contradictions, opening the dialogue. Nov 1, 2004
What we have here is a wonderfully organized reference manual delineating, in a detailed fashion, the many contradictions inherent in the Bible. One could defensively interpret this book as a criticism of the Bible. It is not. The author takes pains not to interpret, judge or predict. The author accepts the scholarly view that the Bible is a collection of materials, written by many authors, over many years. The Biblical authors came from many backgrounds, subjectively reporting what they saw or what others saw. From this position, it is readily understood that different authors remembered or emphasized different views, thus leading to contradictions in what they wrote. There is no denial regarding the importance of what is said or meant in the Bible. This is not an attack on Christianity. This book just dryly lists the contradictions in the various books of the Bible. This manual leaves the reader to dive further into the scriptures on his or her own. This book's strength is in the level of detail it provides. This is not a book to sit down and read. It is a chronological listing and cross-reference manual. It is a valuable reference book for any serious study of the Bible. Understanding what the Bible actually says can only enhance our understanding of Bible.
