An easy-to-read summation of the 613 mitzvot. I enjoyed it and already passed it on. :)
Short and to the Point! Feb 10, 2007
Mr Wootten's book is concise while addressing multiple issues. The subtitle "The 10 Commandments and 613 Laws" is an accurate description of this book. Most people are familiar with the 10 Commandments, not so familiar with the rest of Torah. This book explains all of the Law as well as many reasons for following the OT guidelines(except the sacrificial). I list the Chapter titles to give a better idea of what's in the book. Under The Law? Y'shua's Attitude Toward The Law. Our Need For Law And Order. YHVH's Law Or Man's Law? Paul And The Law. Principles Of The Protestant Reformation. What Attitude Should We Have Toward The Law. The Decalogue:The 10 Commandments. The 613 Laws: Mandatory Commanments. Prohibitions.
The author lists each of the 613 Laws and breaks them down by category(eg.Family,Judicial,Vows,Justice,Loans).They are indexed in the back also.Scripture locations are listed throughout this book. Recommended reading for anyone interested in the messianic lifestyle.
