He manages to escape and, while traveling through the woods, he discovers a cave with other youths living there that is actually an intricate military-type bunker. It is here he seeks refuge. Uneasy due to the tense circumstances bringing them together, the youths slowly get acquainted with each other. A Great First Effort! Sep 12, 2007
This is a very unique first novel. (It is actually the first in a series).
Sometime in the near future, after the long-prophesied Rapture of the Church has taken place, a young man named Peter Roccque finds himself left behind because he had never made a commitment to Christ-until after the Rapture happened and he found himself still on Earth.
On the run, he finds shelter with a group of other young men and women in a former survivalist bunker where he finds friendship and personal rivalry as they rescue a young woman named Angelica Scales. Taught by a mysterious mentor figure named Brother Danny (who really has a mysterious link with Peter, who becomes the leader of the team, along with Joshua Nunn, the "Condor"-like second of the Team), the teens join forces in a manner reminiscent of many anime sentai-team series (I found myself thinking of the anime series Science Ninja Team Gatchaman every now and then while reading this novel) but their weapons are not physical weapons, but are, instead, spiritual weapons given by God as noted in Ephesians 6:13-18. Thus, they are named "The Full Armor Team", with each team member's powers indicating an aspect of the Armor of God.
The book promises a mix between an anime-styled story and a work with lessons drawn from Scripture and today's events. It ended a little too quickly for my taste on a cliffhanger, but at a very good point. It was wonderfully illustrated by the author herself with winsome character designs.
My one major quibble was a somewhat long foreword at the beginning of the book that gave away dribs and drabs of the plot without meaning to. I think this foreword could be shortened in future editions and that much of it could go at the end of the series after the Full Armor Team's work is done. But, other than that, fine job!

Fascinating Read Jun 12, 2007
I really enjoyed this first novel by author, Angela Pritula. Occurring during the period after the Rapture, this is a classic story of the battle between good and evil which keeps you enthralled throughout.
I was intrigued by the characters; they were very well-developed and real. I felt by the end of the book as if I knew them personally. I like the fact that even though were chosen by God, they were thoroughly human, with all the frailties that come with being human. They also learned to work together as a team, despite their different backgrounds. I didn't want to see the book end, but I am thrilled that the story will continue in the next installment.
By the way, not only is Ms. Pritula a talented author, she is also an excellent artist as she has graced the story with wonderful manga-style illustrations that compliment the narrative and really bring the tale to life.
I highly recommend this novel as besides being entertaining, it will also make you think.
Something We Need Now Mar 22, 2007
I got so into this book because of how easy it is to relate to the characters. They are very real. They're friends that help each other and at times some can be very tender with some others. I say this is something that we need now because this group of young adults keeps their faith in God no matter how bad things in the world can be. I really love the whole idea of this group being a powerful force that God wants. It was nice to be there when the last two in the group came into the picture. I'm looking forward to what they accomplish in the next book.
