Item description for Forever England by Ally Ireson...
This is a world of elderly ladies and shopping bags, firemen battling blazing thatched roofs, days out at the seaside, and cricket on the village green. The people, only inches tall, are all residents of Bekonscot, a model village set firmly in a 1930s time warp. Everyday life, from the mundane to the extraordinary, carries on unchanged. Originally built by a London accountant to entertain his house guests, it opened to the public in 1929. This is a fascinating photographic tour through this world-famous folly that stands as a tribute to English eccentricity, humor, determination, and craftsmanship.

Reviews - What do customers think about Forever England?
Where's the village? Sep 10, 2008
I have just received my copy of Forever England. Although the residents of Beckonsott Village are charming there are only two pictures of the village. Since I enjoy creating little houses, I had looked forward to seeing the buildings and their surrounds. I was seriously disappointed. Nowhere in the book description is it suggested that the book is about the people not where they live, work and play. Sorry, I could not recommend this book.
