Reviews - What do customers think about The Magic Square: Cities in Ancient China?

The Magic Square  Aug 6, 2008
This book is an essential book for anyone interested in how the magic square was incorporated into an advanced civilized society. Schinz makes the link between the Magic Square and agriculture, sacred temples, the Chinese jade pi disc, and the planning of cities and villiages in ancient China. Never before has such a book made the connection with mathematics and the evolution of society. Joseph Needham would be proud.
