Reviews - What do customers think about Beyond This Moment (Timber Ridge Reflect V2)?
Beyond This Moment by Tamera Alexander Apr 25, 2010
Tamera writes in a dynamic thrilling manner that has characters that are immediately real to you. Enough description to set up a visual setting but always the action of the characters and their thoughts are the most riveting so one hates to put the book down. "Don't use as bedtime reading: you will suffer for lack of sleep!" and I smile as I say that.
BEYOND THIS MOMENT Dec 27, 2009
BEYOND THIS MOMENT the second installment of the Timber Ridge Reflections is filled with highs, lows, and the wonder of how Dr. Molly Whitcomb will come to terms with the secret she is hiding from the town of Timber Ridge. Hired as the new teacher in Timber Ridge, Dr. Molly Whitcomb quickly comes under fire for omitting the fact that she is not single as the town leaders had thought. A recent widow, she continues to defend her position, even though she knows her deceptions are growing. Involving herself in the community, she befriends Angelo, a boy from a local Italian immigrant camp, and Elijah a boy of color that isn't allowed to attend school. When told her decisions are unwise, she questions the injustice of the town leaders. Sheriff James McPherson senses Dr. Whitcomb is hiding something but his attraction for her outweighs his instincts. Though she continues to put distance between them, he can't help but feel she in the woman for him. With her affections for James growing, Molly knows what she hides will only bring him heartbreak. Not wanting to tarnish his reputation or endanger his standing in the community, she pushes James away. The only question, will he stay away? BEYOND THIS MOMENT is a great addition to the Timber Ridge Reflections series. Tamera weaves not only a story of love and redemption, but delves into the prejudices to immigrants that was prevalent during this time in history.
An engaging, enjoyable read Nov 11, 2009
Set in Colorado in 1876, this is the story of Dr Mrs Molly Whitcomb, ex-Professor of Romance Languages and the new teacher in the small town of Timber Ridge. However, Dr Molly is hiding some secrets - she is not a Mrs, but she is expecting the child of her almost-fiance, who is now engaged to marry someone else. Pretending to be married seems the logical explaination, but her attraction to Sherrif James McPherson makes the whole ploy more difficult in practice than she had anticipated. The Sherrif is sure Molly is hiding something, but can't work out what it is. Add in the difficult relationships with the local Italian population and it's a well-written readable novel, with enough plot and tension to keep most fans of Christian romance happy.
So good I read it in one day Sep 2, 2009
This is Tamara Alexander's best yet. Althought I enjoyed the first book in this series, this one was even better! I was gripped and ended up staying up until 1:30 in the morning to finish it because I just had to know how it ended!
Wonderful Second Timber Ridge Reflections Novel Aug 25, 2009
I loved this book. It is the second in the Timber Ridge Reflections trilogy but it stands alone fine. All of Tamera Alexander's books have absolutely beautiful covers to go with the beautiful writing on the inside. I was drawn in from the first page and held captured til the last page. I read it in one night. Beyond the Moment had characters that came alive in my mind. Two main themes are forgiveness and integrity. When Dr. Molly Whitcomb fails to see beyond the moment her life changes forever but can God redeem the situation? I highly recommend this book and all of Tamera Alexander's other books too. :)
