Publishers Description Perhaps it could be said that for the first time in history, maleness is seen as something of a liability rather than as an asset. In previous generations, men felt comfortable about being a man and knew their place in society and how they should relate to the opposite sex. Author Winston Smith reveals while masculinity is innate, becoming a man is an art, it requires application Masculinity can be likened to being a rough diamond which needs to be cut and polished in order to make it a thing of beauty. Becoming a responsible man, in the proper sense of the word, requires effort and a desire to live a life in conformity with the will and purposes of God.

Amazing book. I learned a lot about what it means to be a man in today's western now genderless society. The author definately has had extensive research into social trends that have shaped our modern society in the last several decades. He goes into many social, marriage, gender and sex role issues that are now being addressed under the scrutiny of public eye. I liked how he talks about what it means to be a man with defining values and how he describes positive masculinity.
Highly recommended for young men growing in their 20s and entering the real world. He essentialy has a blueprint for any man willing to take responsibility of his life and his actions and develop his personality with integrity and wisdom. This book has had a profound impact on my life and am happy to know I have a positive direction to look forwards to in my developing career and hopefully some day family.
