Item description for Fragments of Voice by Abbah & Abemir Sergo...
Fragments of Voice is a very beautiful and concise poetic text about the search for the meaning of life. Free of dogma and constraints, it leads the reader to a liberation beyond experience. A voice sounds and withdraws, leaving behind a pearl for reflection in the hearts of those who have listened. With astonishing directness the Voice speaks about prayer, death, love, transcendance, truth and liberation. It's message is one of freedom and tolerance, and it invites the reader to share in its wisdom.

JUST BEYOND WORDS! Feb 21, 2003
I have nothing to say, that would contribute to the beauty and magnitude of this book,
Thank you, Abbah Frédéric for publishing it wether or not it is yours seems totally irrelavent; it is what it is!
A Master-piece, mysterious and enigmatic Oct 4, 2002
This book, said to be a translation of an ancient text, is what I believe to be the most devastating, instructive and beautiful spiritual text after 'The Prophet' from Gibran and the Bhagavad-Gita.
The introduction which explains how the author Abbah Frédéric found the manuscript in the late seventees, tries to make the reader belief that it was found in an old hermitage in the Syrian desert during the civil-war in Lebanon, where the author lived at that time. However from the epilgue it is clear to me that it is a genuine inspired text by Abbah himself. Similar work from him can be found on his website.
He wrote the entire text in my eyes, but has placed the text in this beautiful constructed story as to not be directly implicated for the grave and shattering effect this text might have on people's views of the nature of reality, the purpose of life and religion. This text is so time-less and up-to-date on the current political crisis the world is being faced with. As it so blatantly demonstrates the ignorance that blinds people in this world of war-games, and it reveals how it all is a materialization of inner forces, that make from our lives genuine Greek-dramas, and mock all transcendental ideals of peace and tolerance, with which we tend to give our western civilisation a humanitarian label.
Despite demolishing hope and all comfort of reward in heaven, it gives a beautiful sense of individual spiritual power with which each man can in his most inner solitute re-create that what is most sacred to him or her.
In Fragments of Voice, I find an entirely new living philosphy and mysticism that gives a direction to my life. The actual Voice that speaks in this enigmatic spiritual poem descends from a mountain without any particular form, but present in all forms, and speaks to those who whish to hear, and whose hearts are open.
My favourite quote from 'Fragments of Voice" is:
"Nothing has ever passed Nothing has ever taken place I am eternal in My void I am infinite in My shape Void and shape; illusions of the senses A thought that never was A feeling that cannot be."
I recommend this book to everybody; every sincere thinker, seeker, artist, philosopher, and in particular to everybody who believes to have power over others. This book is already a classic in my eyes, it is the kind of book that is written every few hundred years, and upon which new, perhaps more harmonious civilisations can thrive.
