Publishers Description This classic of Christian testimony and devotion explores the attributes of God in words that fly straight to the heart. A superb aid to strengthening and deepening the spiritual life, each chapter begins with a prayer, lucidly discusses a divine aspect -- from God's infinity to God's love -- and relates that aspect to today's world, while pointing always to God's wonder and inscrutability.A. W. Tozer asserts that the cause of many of our modern spiritual woes is the loss in today's church of a lofty concept of God. He argues persuasively that the cure lies in our rediscovery of God's majesty. "What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us," he writes. "The history of mankind will probably show that no people has ever risen above its religion, and man's spiritual history will positively demonstrate that no religion has ever been greater than its idea of God." The Knowledge of the Holy bearseloquent witness to the concept of God's majesty, encourages reverent meditation on the being of God, and offers a way to bring back spiritual power to our lives.

Hidden nuggets Feb 22, 2007
This is not a book you would read on the beach. It is not a light read. Having said that, read it anyway. You will find depth and mystery and treasure in its pages - and best of all, a deeper trust of God.
Great Book Jan 24, 2007
This is a great book for anyone that desires to know God as He truly is. As Tozer says, the greatest problem the church has today is her skewed view of God. If we (the church) can get an accurate view of God, most of our problems will be resolved.
Excellent! Jan 4, 2007
This is an amazing book on the attributes of God - deep and thought provoking a worthy read if you want to grow in your knowledge of who God is - as that changes us!
Wonderful Book with Keys to understanding what God wants Dec 20, 2006
There are few books that can (with the Holy Spirit's help) lift the reader out of himself. Tozer's Knowledge Of The Holy is one such book.
Excellent Read Nov 16, 2006
A.W. Tozer points out that the reason why so many people view Christianity as a chore and think that Christians are boring is because they have a wrong view of who God is. This is a must read for all those professing to be believers because Tozer takes the basic truths of the Bible and the nature of God and explains why each and every single one is important to knowing who we are. Because we can only know who we are as we get to know the Creator more and more. It may be a little difficult to get through the language, but definately worth while. Although it is a short book, take the time to mull over each chapter and reflect.
